Joy and Fear
My wife holds in her a new life.
Will I be a good father?
Can I provide for it?
What about my temper?
Is it going to be fun?
I stay awake at night, these questions gnawing at me.
I answer Yes, Yes, No Problem, and YES.
I rollover and the questions come by for a second round.
My answers are the same.
I will succeed. I will provide.
I will be the father I have always dreamed of being.
Self doubt slinks away come morning, like a coyote waiting for the next night.
Don’t come back self doubt.
My answers will not change.

That’s great, Ben. It hits so many things a first-time father goes through. Bravo.
