If I type in zombie neighborhood in the blog search on the main page of wordpress.com why isn’t my blog in the search results?
Also I tried zombie poem and nothing came back related to me?
Any ideas?

Time. Give it time, bud. Your blog is pretty new; I’ve been on the blogosphere since 2005. I’d recommend you pimp it everywhere you can, comment on other blogs and zombie sites, include your blog address in your signature and on everything you do (personal email addresses, etc.), and get your name out there.
Check out the “promoting your blog” items in the WP forums, too. You can Google SEO stuff, but I find most of them are targeted at businesses, and that wasn’t appropriate for me. The other thing is, some of them want money for the information, and … well, y’know. No way.
But you have to allow time for your ranking to come up.
Link to other blogs when you post if it’s relevant; do you have an account with a place like Technorati, or whatever? Put it in as many places as you can where someone will see it and maybe check you out. If you regularly read a popular, busy blog, try commenting there. That’s generally pretty good exposure.
